MAURI HITCHCOCK

Mauri Hitchcock is a 4th generation Alaskan, full time mother, aspiring farmer, macrame artist and Healing Arts enthusiast. Moon Mama Macrame began as a hobby to fund her gardening habit and longtime dream of farming, but quickly became a full-time passion project as she fell in love with fiber arts. Mauri and her partner Amos, daughter Laila Rain and two fur babies live together on a 5-acre plot of land in Ninilchik, Alaska. Together they spend their days working hard at their goal of living a subsistent lifestyle. In Summer months they can be found fishing, developing their small farm and exploring the beauty of their Alaskan home. Getting and giving back to nature is the grand theme of Mauri’s life, which reflects greatly in her artwork. She draws much of her inspiration from the beautiful and wild environment in which she resides, where the wilderness meets the Sea. Her work incorporates healing crystals as well as driftwood, antlers and ocean treasures foraged from all over Alaska.

All fibers used in her work are environmentally
friendly, hand dyed and recycled.
