AUTHOR

Originally from West Virginia, Mareth has called Seward, Alaska home since 2007. When she's not writing, she works as a naturalist and wilderness guide, leading adventurous souls on epic quests to seek out glaciers, bears and whales in the wilds of coastal Alaska. She has also lived and worked in Scotland, Mexico, New Zealand and Northern Ireland—where her nearest neighbors included two thousand puffins and the ghost of a spectral black horse. Her time in Scotland and Ireland was part of the inspiration for her debut novel The Year King, originally published through Parvus Press in 2017. Her second novel Labyrinth Room is a fantasy novel mixing caves, chemistry, and magic that comes with a price. The setting was partially inspired by Alaska's El Capitan Cave, located on Prince of Wales Island in Southeast.
