Born in Fairbanks and now living in Wasilla, artist Deb Lestenkof uses alcohol inks (highly pigmented inks in alcohol) to paint Alaskan environments, animals and nature.

Using tools such as a straw and small brush, Deb controls the moving ink by using her breath to evaporate it, drying the ink where she wants it to go. This self-taught technique creates unique and beautiful effects like none see anywhere else.

With a background in art therapy and a recipient of two kidney transplants, Deb enjoys installing the healing nature of creating and hopes to inspire others to pursue their own creative talents. In addition to creating her own work, Deb also teaches alcohol ink classes throughout Alaska.
